Ethan Brown is the founder and CEO of Beyond Meat, a company known for producing plant-based meat substitutes.

Born in 1972, Brown was raised in Washington, D.C., and later moved to rural Maryland. His father, a professor and conservationist, ran a dairy farm, and Brown has attributed much of his passion for the environment and interest in agriculture to this upbringing.

Beyond Meat is a Los Angeles-based producer of plant-based meat substitutes. The company was founded by Ethan Brown in 2009, and since then, it has gained significant attention for its efforts to create products that mimic the taste, texture, and nutritional benefits of conventional meat, while eliminating many of the environmental and health concerns associated with livestock production.
