Carlos Rodriguez

Carlos Rodriguez is a business executive who served as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP) from November 2011 to April 2021. Under his leadership, ADP grew into one of the world's largest providers of human capital management (HCM) solutions, offering services such as payroll processing, talent management, and benefits administration.

Carlos A. Rodriguez was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1964 and immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of two. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

Rodriguez joined ADP in 1999 through the acquisition of Vincam, a company where he served as CFO. Over the years, he held various leadership positions within ADP, including President of the Small Business Services and Employer Services International divisions. In 2011, he was appointed President and CEO, succeeding Gary C. Butler.

During his tenure as CEO, Carlos Rodriguez focused on driving innovation and digital transformation at ADP. He led the company through a period of significant growth and expansion, both organically and through strategic acquisitions, such as the aforementioned acquisition of Celergo in 2018. Under his leadership, ADP developed new cloud-based HCM solutions and leveraged data analytics to improve its product offerings and customer experience.

In Jan 2023, Carlos Rodriguez stepped down as CEO of ADP, and the company announced Maria Black as his successor.
