Hamid Moghadam was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1956. He moved to the United States in 1976 to pursue higher education. Moghadam earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and later completed his Master of Science degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
In 1983, Moghadam co-founded Prologis (originally named AMB Property Corporation) with T. Robert Burke and Douglas D. Abbey.
