Ralph Izzo

Ralph Izzo has been with PSEG since 1992 and has held several key positions in the company before becoming CEO in April 2007. He also serves as the President, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Executive Committee.

Ralph Izzo was born on September 24, 1957, in Newark, New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University's School of Engineering and Applied Science, and he later obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In addition to his engineering degrees, Izzo holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rutgers University.

Before joining PSEG, Izzo worked as a research scientist at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, where he focused on nuclear fusion. He has also been an adjunct professor at Columbia University, teaching courses on plasma physics and nuclear fusion.

At PSEG, Izzo has held various leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of Utility Operations, President, and Chief Operating Officer of PSEG's subsidiary, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G). In these roles, he has been responsible for overseeing the operations, planning, and engineering of the company's electric and gas distribution systems.

As CEO, Ralph Izzo has been a strong advocate for clean energy and sustainable business practices. Under his leadership, PSEG has committed to reducing its carbon emissions and investing in renewable energy sources like solar and wind power. Izzo has also been an active voice in discussions around energy policy, both at the state and national levels, advocating for measures that promote clean energy and address climate change.

Izzo serves on various boards and committees, including the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, the Edison Electric Institute, and the Nuclear Energy Institute. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his leadership and contributions to the energy industry, including the "Outstanding CEO" award from the New Jersey Business magazine and the "Most Admired CEO" recognition from the NJBIZ newspaper.
