Robert James

Robert (Bob) James, born in 1923, was one of the co-founders of Raymond James Financial, a diversified financial services company that provides investment banking, asset management, and financial planning services to individuals, corporations, and municipalities. Bob James started his career in the financial services industry after serving as a pilot during World War II.

Prior to founding Raymond James Financial, Bob James worked at several financial firms. He eventually partnered with Raymond Mason, who owned a firm called Mason Securities. In 1962, they merged their firms and established Raymond James Financial in St. Petersburg, Florida, with Bob James as president.

Under Bob James's leadership, the company experienced significant growth and expansion. Raymond James Financial became a member of the New York Stock Exchange in 1969 and broadened its services to include investment banking, asset management, and insurance. Bob James's vision and dedication to clients helped the company build a reputation for putting clients' interests first and offering personalized financial advice.

Although Bob James passed away in 2010, his legacy lives on in Raymond James Financial. The company has grown into a major player in the financial services industry, now a Fortune 500 company, with a presence in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The firm offers a wide range of financial services, including investment banking, asset management, financial planning, and insurance products. Bob James's client-centric approach and focus on personalized service remain integral to the company's philosophy and operations.
