Irwin M. Jacobs

Irwin M. Jacobs is an American electrical engineer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who co-founded Qualcomm, a global technology company known for its innovations in wireless communications. Born on October 18, 1933, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Jacobs earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1956 and his Master's and Doctorate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1957 and 1959, respectively.
