Leon Hess (March 14, 1914 – May 7, 1999) was an American entrepreneur and businessman who founded the Hess Corporation, a leading global independent energy company involved in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. He was also well-known as the owner of the New York Jets, a professional American football team in the National Football League (NFL).
